The Power of TEAMwork

in: videos

The Power of TEAMwork

This video was inspired by the Ultimate Team.  By Blue Angel pilot, Scott Beare andaward winning designer Michael McMillan.  The video shares 9 key principles of TEAMwork that the Blue Angels use when flying.

TEAMwork separates the winners from the losers.

The Blue Angels set the standard each day… at every level

At what level does your TEAM operate?

Is it time to raise the bar?

Share Center Point Values

The Blue Angels build every show around a center point
and build their TEAM around shared values.
Without shared values, peak performance isn’t possible.
Team value must align with its purpose, mission and actions…
Put TEAM first!

Sacrificing individual gain for the TEAM’s greater good
is the price of admission members must pay…
and keep paying…to be on the team.

TEAMwork isn’t a part-time activity…
each member represents the TEAM at all times.

Putting TEAM first is a 24/7 commitment…

Walk the Talk

Effective leaders are upfront and lead by positive example.
Successful leaders embrace the power of TEAMwork by tapping into
the innate strengths each person brings to the table.

What’s the level of trust on your TEAM?

Are your objectives aligned with your values?

Do you walk the talk?

Maintain Peak Performance

Peak performance requires we take time to rest, reflect and recharge our batteries.

Communicate

vertically + horizontally

Every member on the team requires clear and effective communication to accomplish their job.
At this level of performance, there can be no questions or doubt concerning communication.

Does your TEAM communicate…openly and honestly?

Prepare To Win

Visualize yourself accomplishing the task at hand.
“Train the way you fight and fight the way you train.”

Capitalize on Synergy

Synergy happens when qualified people align on a common objective.
Making the TEAM means doing what it takes to fulfill the mission.
Each member has a role in the team’s success.

Do you capitalize on synergy?

Does your TEAM prepare to win?

Do you?

Clarify Procedures

Each member must know procedures…and follow a detailed script.
Every situation requires a proper response.

Foster Positive Attitudes

A can-do attitude makes the impossible, possible.

Attitude = Altitude

Strive for Perfection

By confronting our failures, we come closer to reaching…perfection.

Every TEAM member must earn the right to wear the crest.
When each member accepts full responsibility and strives for excellence…
trust and performance increase exponentially…
and the TEAM is ready to take off.

Is your TEAM ready to take off and reach new levels of success?

Are you?

Leaders and Followers Have Specific Roles

in: Devotions

Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?” He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; And a wise man’s heart discerns both time and judgment…All this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: There is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt.

~Ecclesiastes 8:4-5, 9

Solomon makes points about our relationship to the people who lead us. We are to submit to them, not because the person deserves it, but because the office deserves it and God decrees it. And what about leaders in authority? Solomon also issues a warning. When leaders try to exercise authority without a servant’s heart, they eventually hurt themselves. Consider what he says:

Role of the Follower

1. Submit to God-given authority.

2. Trust God to accomplish His purpose.

3. Don’t quit or become divisive.

Role of the Leader

1. Exercise authority with wisdom and caution.

2. Recognize that no human controls all of life.

3. Lead others by serving, not bossing them.

The Essence of DESTINY

in: Quotes

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Choose your words, for they become actions.

Understand your actions, for they become habits.

Study your habits, for they will become your character.

Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny.

When A Christian…

in: Quotes

When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles.

When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs.

When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy.

The Power of a Simple Gift

vertical-small-simple-gift

Operation Christmas Child is a fun and simple, hands-on project of Samaritan’s Purse that anyone can participate in. Each gift-filled shoe box is used to bless the life of a child living in a desperate situation. When culturally appropriate, children are also offered “The Greatest Gift of All,” an illustrated storybook in their local language explaining how God sent his only son. Children can learn more about having a personal relationship with Jesus through a voluntary discipleship program that is offered.

How to Pack a Shoe Box

For many children, receiving a cherished, gift-filled shoe box from Operation Christmas Child also opens the door for them, their families, and their communities to receive additional assistance from Samaritan’s Purse in the form of water filters, feeding programs, and medical care.  More information at Beyond the Box.

On Sunday, November 15th, Yorkton Victory Church will be packing shoeboxes during Sunday School.  Please bring a few items for a young boy or girl.  Thank you so much for your support!

I Am the Disabled Child

give-thanxI am the child who cannot talk.

You often pity me. I see it in your eyes.
You wonder how much I am aware of…I see that as well.
I am aware of much…whether you are happy or sad or fearful,
patient or impatient, full of love and desire,
or if you are just doing your duty by me.
I marvel at your frustration, knowing mine to be far greater,
for I cannot express myself nor my needs as you do.
You cannot conceive my isolation, so complete it is at times.
I do not gift you with clever conversation,
cute remarks to be laughed over and repeated.
I do not give you answers to your everyday questions,
responses over my well-being, sharing my needs,
or comments about the world around me.
I do not give you rewards as defined by the world’s stardards…
great strides in development that you can credit yourself.
I do not give you understanding as you know it.
What I give you is so much more valuable…
I give you instead opportunities.
Opportunities to discover the depth of your character, not mine;
the depth of your love, your commitment, your patience, your abilities; the opportunity to explore your spirit more deeply
than you imagined possible.
I drive you further than you ever go on your own,
working harder, seeking answers to your many questions,
creating questions with no answers.

I am the child who cannot talk.

I am the child who cannot walk.

The world sometimes seems to pass me by.
You see the longing in my eyes to get out of this chair,
to run and play like other children.
There is much you take for granted. I want the toys on the top shelf.
I need to go to the bathroom… oh…I’ve dropped my spoon again.
I am dependent on you in these ways.
My gift to you is to make you aware of your great fortune,
your healthy back and legs, your ability to do for yourself.
Sometimes people appear not to notice me; I always notice them.
I feel not so much envy as desire, desire to stand upright,
to put one foot in front of the other, to be independent.
I give you awareness.

I am the child who cannot walk.

I am the child who is mentally impaired.

I don’t learn easily, if you judge me by the world’s measuring stick. What I do know is infinite joy in the simple things.
I am not burdened as you are with the strifes and conflicts
of a more complicated life.
My gift to you is to grant you the freedom to enjoy things as a child,
to teach you how much your arms around me mean, to give you love.
I give you the gift of simplicity.

I am the child who is mentally impaired.

I am the disabled child.
     I am your teacher.
If you allow me, I will teach you what is really important in life.
I will give you and teach you unconditional love.
I give to you my innocent trust,
my dependency upon you.
I teach you of respect for others and their uniqueness.
I teach you about the sanctity of life.
I teach you about how very precious this life is and
about not taking things for granted.
I teach you about forgetting your own needs and desires and dreams.
I teach you giving.

Most of all, I teach you Hope and Faith.

I Am The Disabled Child.
